Can i file taxes without a 1099?
I work as a sub contractor kinda for a man. He claims my wages as sub but it is his way of not having payroll. He does not do 1099. I really want to file taxes for 2007. Can i without a 1099? Also how do i set up an account with my state, MA, so that i can start paying taxes. I want to be a legit worker. I want my credit & social security statement to reflect all the hard work i do everyday. Advice please

You really cannot. The IRS matches 1099s with tax returns and you don’t have one. If you file you may get a letter from the IRS asking why. Also, I don’t’ think 1099 workers have SS wages reported. They have to pay their own SS tax.
