How do you file a law suit agaist a company in a state different from yours?
I hired a contracting company in Pa for a landscaping job to be done in NJ. They have failed to complete the job and I find it necessary to file a suit. How would I go about this because they are a PA company. Thanks for any insight.
Just to clarify:
The company began the job and abandoned it along with all their tools and equipment that were left at the NJ site. They will not return phone calls etc.

Is there a contract between the two of you? Because if there is – it will have information about the venue for any lawsuit.
If not, then you should be able to file a lawsuit in NJ.
In either scenario, If it is under a certain amount, you can probably file the lawsuit in small claims court.
