Plumbing inspector?
I had a contractor install a boiler in my basement. He was supposed to have pulled a permit for this job but I don’t think he did.
I would like to know what this means to me as a consumer. I live in Massachusetts.
Am I going to be fined or penalized in any way for having this intalled without a permit being pulled?
Or worse, am I going to have the thing reinstalled with a proper permit this time?
The plumber has dissappeared so I assume it’s likely he never actually did pull a permit on the job.

I would just let it alone. Don’t call an inspecter. Don’t call another plumber. Don’t do anythig. Sometimes playing dumb is better than being too smart.
My mother used to say, let sleeping dogs lay.

While playing dumb may seem like a good idea now, it could bite you bad later. In situations where no permit was pulled, your insurance could refuse to pay if there is a fire or other problem caused by the boiler. I would suggest using every method available to find this plumber.
