How do I attract Blue and Great Tits to feed and nest in my garden?

I live in England,

I have a wire mesh cylinder feeder under an archway covered in ivy,
I have a seed feeder (also under the arch)
And fat balls in a few places.

The feeder is nearly always covered in house sparrows and no other birds seem to want to come.

I also lots of bird boxes all over the garden,

On the kitchen extension,In the hedge ect, ect…

I was just wondering how to attract their attention

Thanks :D

Watching HGTV, kitchen appliance in Europe with porthole window in it. What is it?

On House Hunters International, in Spain and England they had an appliance in the kitchen that has a porthole window in it. I was assuming it was a dishwasher but have not been able to find one like it. What is it?

Did we really ever win our freedom from England?

It seems they fight with us, or we fight with them in almost every war. It seems that we are the only two countries that have a high rate of broken families and domestic issues. It seems that we are the only two countries that like to invade and impose our lifestyle upon other countries. And it also seems that there is a new obsession with the English in the media and everywhere else. On the internet, I swear you find them in a lot of workshops, or even policing forums for proper grammar. But in the media, you have them all over the place. American Idol’s Simon, Who’s Got Talent’s, (well I forget his name, but he’s the British meanie on the panel of judges), So you Think You Can Dance’s (I forget his name too), Hell’s Kitchen’s Chef Ramsey, on Oprah Winfrey’s show (The Big Give) (I forget his name, but he’s also British, and he’s on the panel of judges), and now even the Bachelor is from England, in The Bachelor (London Calling). What’s with the new wave of British, English arrogance? Is America full of Masochists? Did we really win the revolutionary war?

What is the name of the home make over show where children design the house?

it was on a few years ago in england. They would take the parents away from the house and the children would design the changes to the house with a design team? in one episode a boy designed his kitchen like a fast food restraunt and his parents hated it so it often appears on the programs like it shouldnt happen to a make over show

Is it true, no pointed knives in England?

I realize that this is an odd question, however, I was at a convention and met someone who said something about a new law in England. I really didn’t know the gentleman well enough to know if he was full of brass or was telling me something true.

He stated that in England everyone had to turn in all of their pointed knives including kitchen knives to the police. He said that any knife owned by the public had to have a blunt end.

If this is true, then what is the point? (All puns intended.) If this is false, then people are coming up with strange Urban Legions from across the pond.

Note: The topic started about gun control and then someone said how ridiculous it got. Maybe the guy who said it was the ridiculous one. I just thought I’d ask if there was any truth to it.

England has already banned guns, given this story, should they ban knives?

The story is about a high profile murder in London. One of the actors in the Harry Potter series was killed by a man with two kitchen knives. Banning guns in England has clearly not stopped the killing, so should they now ban knives in the name of public safety?

Of course, they could just ban assault knives, you know, the ones with points and sharp edges.

Just to direct traffic to the question:

What would Obama, Reid, or Pelosi do?
Guerrilla Sauce is of course correct, guns are not totally banned in England. Having said that, they are so totally controlled that the likely hood of anyone having one outside of a range make it from a practical sense a total ban.

For some of the rest of you, please note that knife crime is on a steady rise in England, and this killing is not an isolated incident.

Where can I find oversized/giant cup and saucer planters in ceramic to be used as centerpieces?

I saw giant teacup (cup and saucer) china planters at Wahl Mart, but they only had one and other stores are out. I cannot find on the Internet except at stores in England and Australia. I need them for floral centerpieces for a kitchen shower in July.

What is it like at a boarding school?

I am really curious as to how a boarding school actually works and not how it always portrayed in books and films, and i would love to find out a typical ‘routine’ of one, preferably here in England. What is it like in dorms, what about leaving school grounds? Bathrooms, kitchens? As much detail as possible would be great!

Where can I buy a glass stand to hold cups and glasses on the kitchen table?

In England I saw these 6 pronged stands to hold drinking glasses upside down on the kitchen or dining table. I don’t know what the proper name for that is, but I want to figure out where I can buy that online or here in the US.
