I hired a contracting company in Pa for a landscaping job to be done in NJ. They have failed to complete the job and I find it necessary to file a suit. How would I go about this because they are a PA company. Thanks for any insight.
Just to clarify:
The company began the job and abandoned it along with all their tools and equipment that were left at the NJ site. They will not return phone calls etc.

I reside in Minnesota and was an independent contractor for a company based out of Rhode Island. They ended my contract because I told the owner she was a self righteous ####waffle.
I have spent 7 years in this type of job and it is how I earn the better part of my living.
The contract I signed has a non-compete that states I won’t "work directly or indirectly with a competitor".
Logic would dictate that I’m completely screwed, but many are telling me that because of the geographic distance and the unreasonableness of the non-compete (I won’t be allowed to practice my trade), that I could easily fight this in court. Any thoughts?

an existing driveway, prep and pour a new one. We performed all the tear out and prep work and when the city inspectors did the prepour inspection, they stated they wanted a curb installed between the customer’s driveway and the neigbor’s property so that if it rained, the water would not drain onto the neigboring property. The customer refused to let us pour a curb, and went to city hall, cancelled our permits using the excuse that we did move fast enough for them and had the driveway poured without the curb and had a different inspector who passed the job. We filed a lien for breach of contract and our atty. requested a flat fee of 0.00 to file the lien. In turn, the customer countered a law suit of approx ,000.00 for fraudulent damages, lost time from work, etc., Now, we want to countsue that suit and our atty said we cannot do that. Is this correct. Other exp have occurred since we orig filed the lien.

Ok so i like landscaping alot im currently a student at a university studying communications…i really have no interest in college at all but im sticking to it just so i cant get that degree and get a real job. i work every summer at a landscape contracting company my boss is probably about id say 45? ma bey and he’s made a great living always a big spender has a huge house on alot of property and has nice thing cars…hummer. i wanna start my own landscape business and see where it goes i was wondering if it is actully a lucrative business that makes real money. or is it a risky business that many dont susseed in? either way im going to do it and it its no good i always have a education under my belt that i can put to use any info in this feild would be great…also how much money would one need to start from the ground up? and whats the average salary of a landscaper. also how hard would it be to obtain a loan for this type of business for a 21 year old student alredy owing school $

This is my passion, we took over my parents condo from the 70’s and re did each room 1 by 1, and I can’t get enough of it, I wish I had a million more rooms, I not only love the designing aspect of it but actually gett my hands dirty although my husband has worked for a licensed contractor for a while now and he basically does all the dirty work. We love this, he does it for a job and at home in his spare time. We want more than anything to flip a house, and try to earn a profit, even if it’s small, we’re young, early-mid 20’s, just starting out and don’t have a lot of money, so we know we’d never get approved to buy a house, we’re looking for an investory in the Massachusetts area.. how do we go about this??
