I work as a sub contractor kinda for a man. He claims my wages as sub but it is his way of not having payroll. He does not do 1099. I really want to file taxes for 2007. Can i without a 1099? Also how do i set up an account with my state, MA, so that i can start paying taxes. I want to be a legit worker. I want my credit & social security statement to reflect all the hard work i do everyday. Advice please

I was paid wages in CO all year, but indep contracting in RI x3months. My CO income taxes are based on federal income numbers. Do I have to pay RI state tax on my business income in RI?
