What do you think about Hard Wood Ceilings?

I was looking through a magazine of kitchen designs and noticed a hard wood ceiling look instead of hardwood floors. I thought it was a very rustic, new england-eque look for a kitchen. My kitchen is getting re-modeled and the plans are not yet finalized. What do you think about this look?

I love it. It adds a warmth to the room, and a homey old time feel. They actually used to be quite prevalent before drywall was used so widely. The key to making one look nice is to make sure it is installed very well, because seams will be noticable. Also you want to make sure you install carefully around lighting, because patching will be very hard if something is placed wrong and needs to be moved.
I really think it is a beautiful look, if done right
