What is the buidling code for the height of handrails for a rooftop deck in Newport RI.?
I have tried to check online and they are too difficult to search out…It would be great if a liscensed contractor in Newport RI responded to this…I dont really want to hear "check with your local buidling inspector" or "check with city hall"…all useless responses. Thanks for your time.

Stephen is right, but go to your local library reference desk to check local building codes. If they do not cover this topic, then check the OSHA regulations for toe clearances, gap between verticals, and strength of materials.
This is ugly but would be legal in most of North America..
OSHA handbook article 1910(b) (15) Guardrails not less than 2 x 4 inches or the equivalent and not less than 36 inches or more than 42 inches high, with a mid-rail, when required, of 1 x 4-inch lumber or equivalent, and toeboards, shall be installed at all open sides on all scaffolds more than 10 feet above the ground or floor. Toeboards shall be a minimum of 4 inches in height. Wire mesh shall be installed in accordance with paragraph (a)(17) of this section.
