Who should I use for hard wood floors in Andover, MA?
I am a total flooring newbie. Looking for both advice and referrals. Should I use a company? (Empire, National Floors Direct, etc) or buy the material myself and have a contractor put it in?

Both of those are big companies and both will charge more for labor since they have overhead and liabilities to consider. This is a normal practice. Getting it your self is generally a bit cheaper, but you have to haul it and have it in the area (72 hrs minimum) in advance.This usually means area should be ripped out and ready to go to stack wood in.You are responsible to get the guy ( or gal)there and checking insurances and references. So it goes both ways you get to choose.GL
