In order to ask for a salary increment, u should have valid justification – like not getting a raise for a long time, having done something out of the way in the nature of work u r doing, improved upon your academic / technical qualification etc.

This is to bring to your kind notice that I have been working in your concern since (year).

In view of my dedicated work and being punctual for work etc. (or the one of the reason I mentioned in the first para), I would request you to favorably consider my case for a decent increase to my salary. Another reason for requesting this raise is due to the high cost of living and I am unable to make both the ends meet.
